GCRA Enjoys Success at Masters Nationals

The GCRA Advanced Competitive Program (ACP), along with the Upper Arlington (UA) Masters Rowers, competed at the 2007 Masters Nationals Championships on August 9th-12th in Oak Ridge, Tennessee. Both GCRA ACP rowers and UA Masters are coached by Chris Swartz. Many of the boats that competed at Nationals were composite lineups comprised of rowers from both teams. Both teams enjoyed a tremendous success!
Congratulations to the following boats that received medals: Composite Mens Hwt A 4+ (2nd), GCRA Mens Ltwt A 1x (1st), GCRA Mixed A 8+ (1st), Composite Mixed A 8+ (2nd), GCRA Mens Hwt B 2- (1st), GCRA Mixed B 8+ (3rd), GCRA Mens Ltwt A 4+ (2nd), GCRA Mixed B 4+ (1st), GCRA Mixed A 4+ (2nd), Composite Mixed A 4+ (3rd), Composite Mens Hwt AA 4- (1st), UA Womens Open B 4+ (2nd), Composite Womens Open C 4+ (3rd), Composite Mens Hwt AA 4+ (2nd), Composite Womens Ltwt A 4+ (3rd), Composite Mens Hwt A 8+ (1st), Composite Womens Open B 8+ (3rd).
What is MMS?
Submitted by admin on Thu, 2006-06-08 19:08. RegattasThe goals set forth for the Midwest Masters Sprints by the Midwest Masters Group are:
- to build a greater sense of community among Midwest rowers
- to improve our overall competitiveness.
- 950m Sprint race course on Griggs Reservoir, with stake boat start
- 30-35 four-lane flights are planned. All flights are a final.
- Singles, doubles, men’s pairs, quads, fours and eights events
- Masters, including allowance for AA participants in boats averaging at least 27, lightweight, novice/recreational events
- Medals awarded for first, second and third place finishers in all flights in a medals ceremony after the last event.
