Learn To Row
Hello Future Rower!
We are excited that you are interested in learning to row on the Scioto River with the Greater Columbus Rowing Association’s Learn-to-Row (LTR) program.
Rowing is an excellent way to enjoy the outdoors. This sport also builds teamwork and is a great way to meet new people.
Under the supervision of experienced coaches and coxwains, you will receive a complete introduction to the sport with focus on proper technique, boat-handling, and safety. No prior rowing experience is necessary. All classes meet two times a week for five weeks (weekday morning and evening classes available). In LTR I, you will learn to sweep (row with one oar on either side). In LTR II you will learn to scull (row with two oars). You have to complete LTR I to qualify for LTR II.
