About GCRA
The Greater Columbus Rowing Association (GCRA) was founded in 1984 as a tax exempt not-for-profit organization.  GCRA was incorporated as "The Greater Columbus Rowing Association, Inc." in the fall of 1984 when its Articles of Incorporation were approved by the Ohio Secretary of State.  GCRA's charter number is 643984.  The incorporators and original trustees were Miles C. Durfey, Albert Bishop, J. Patric Dennis and Robert D. Oldfield, III.  The first statutory agent was Miles C. Durfey.

Mission

GCRA is a non-profit, volunteer-based adult organization dedicated to providing its diverse membership safe sculling and sweep rowing opportunities, from beginner to competitive levels.  GCRA is committed to promoting and fostering interest in the sport of rowing through programming, through teaching and by organizing regattas.

Leadership and Organization

The Officers, also referred to as the Executive Committee, include the President, Vice President, Treasurer and Secretary.  The Officers must be members of GCRA and are elected annually.  Officers handle the club's day-to-day operations.

The Board of Trustees consists of six elected Trustees and the President of the club.  Offices are held for two- and three-year terms.  The Trustees develop program policies and oversee strategic operations of the club.
